Location: Base Metal Refinery (BMR), Rustenburg
The generalist role is responsible for the maintenance of all P&O practices, systems, and data quality within the operation.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Safety
• Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
Performance and  Delivery
• Provide advice and support to employees and line managers on a broad range of people & organisation related matters including the interpretation of policies, procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
• Supports line managers and employees by providing credible Employee Relations advice and support including participating in disciplinary and grievances processes.
• Ensures effective implementation of Talent Management, performance management and Employee Benefits processes in support of the organisation’s EVP initiatives.
• Provides talent-sourcing support to ensure recruitment of suitable and top talent for the operation.
• Supports the implementation of the approved operational blueprints and guard against unplanned labour resources.
• Engages and supports line managers in reducing labour unavailability by continuously tracking and monitoring including identifying root cause analysis and providing reports.
• Supports the planning and implementation of Team + Process.
• Implement operational effective Onboarding and off boarding.
• Maintain accurate employee data ensuring accurate reporting.
People & Teams
• Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes.
Compliance 
• Ensure compliance to Valterra Platinum internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Human Resources management or Industrial Psychology.
• Post Graduate Degree Human Resources management or Industrial Psychology is desirable.
Certifications
• Valid EB/Code 08 driver’s license
Experience
• 3 - 5 Human Resources experience
• HR generalist experience essential
• Experience in mining or related environment advantageous
• Computer literate for role including SAP HR
• Knowledge and experience with Navigator+ and the Electronic Manning Board (EMB) will be an added advantage
Technical skills
• Proficient in labour management planning processes.
• Proficient in Talent Management processes and implementation.
• Proficient with interpreting and understanding of SA transformation legislation requirement.
• Good understanding of diversity and inclusion
• Advanced analytical and reporting skills
• Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in organising, planning and coordination skills
• Proficient in persuasion and conflict management skills
• Good understanding of SA cultural diversity and their impact in the work environment
• Proficient in reporting skills including numeracy.
• Advanced computer literacy
