We’re looking for a Linehaul Owner Operator who is ready to roll and has already logged some serious miles. At Van-Kam Freightways, we believe in giving our drivers more than just a job, We offer a place to grow, feel valued, and be a part of a team that keeps things moving.
About Us:
Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is one of the largest regional carriers in Western Canada specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we fulfill shipments to communities within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Between our own resources and our partner network, our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U.S. and Eastern Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting pre-trip and post trip inspections.
When necessary, assist with loading/unloading trailer.
Reporting any issues promptly.
Complying with all regulations regarding transportation and hours of service.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries.
Communicate effectively with Dispatch team members and provide outstanding customer service.
Must comply with all transportation and safety regulation as required.
Uphold security standards at all times.
This position requires working on Highway 37.
What gets you in the driver’s seat:
You are a heavy hauler owner operator!
Valid Class 1 Drivers License is required
Flat Deck hauling experience is required (mix of van & deck work available).
Newer model heavy spec'd highway truck is preferred
Minimum 5 years of Northern winter driving experience is required.
Ability to drive at night is required
Northern Mine heavy hauling experience is required
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
Must be able to handle with adverse weather conditions and chain up fully as weather indicates.
Commitment to transportation regulations as well as customer on-site regulations or rules.
