Details
Role: Central Administration Oversight Officer
Focus: Fund Accounting / Oversight
Department: Central Administration and Depositary Oversight
An opportunity has arisen within Management Company area of FundRock Management Company within Apex Group.
The function of the role will be to ensure the day to day activities within the Central Administrator Oversight team are successfully achieved and client deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner. This will include, but will not be limited to - ensuring SLA and defined deadlines are achieved in order to meet the Management Companies regulatory requirements and obligations.
The role Valencia, Spain based role encompasses vast exposure to Investment Funds in multiple geographical locations domiciled within the Luxembourg and Ireland Financial Sector.
Technical Knowledge/ Technical Capabilities:
Perform first controls on the NAV production process via reviews of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) data provided by the Fund Administrator and extracted from appropriate sources, investigating and escalating potential risks where identified
Initial review of accounting of mostly liquid investment funds based on Lux-GAAP incl. oversight on NAV calculation and monitoring of valuation
Ensuring supporting procedures are accurate and kept up to date
Anticipate potential risk and impact on the net asset value calculation, escalate issues and contribute to resolution of problems
Initial reviewing and preparing various reports, such as financial statements and capital accounts, Management Information. Report to management on operational risk assessment
Develop, adapt and improve appropriate risk-based control regime for each assigned service provider and client Fund by analysing internal and external data – i.e. control and auditing reports
Follow-up with service providers regarding any issues raised until resolution
Maintain regular service calls with clients and service providers. Supporting the team with regard to onsite visits and process reviews
Assist in developing measures to restructure and align Management Company services to meet future client, regulatory and business needs
Achieve high quality in all services provided to clients
Essential / Desirable
Strong academic background including in Accounting/Finance/Economics or comparable studies.
Ideally first professional experience in the area of (fund) accounting, depositary or audit;
Basic knowledge of European Regulator Investment Products, UCITS, AIFMD and Fund regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, analytical and critical thinking skills with high client and service orientation
Ability to work under own initiative
Ability to multi-task, highly motivated, driven and focused
Highly motivated, driven and focused with a desire for new challenges
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages are considered an asset
