Position Overview
We are seeking a professional and dependable Overnight Unarmed Security Officer to provide security services at a high-rise condominium building located in downtown Nashville. This is a solo post that requires strong judgment, self-motivation, and a high level of customer service. The officer will serve as a visible security presence while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment for residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the building, including common areas, stairwells, elevators, entrances, and exterior perimeter
Monitor and control access to the property, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the building during overnight hours
Act as a visible deterrent to unauthorized activity and safety concerns
Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents and guests, including assistance with access, directions, and general inquiries
Maintain a clean, well-groomed, and presentable appearance at all times, including wearing a clean and properly fitted company-issued uniform while on duty
Observe, document, and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations
Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and after-hours incidents in accordance with post orders
Complete accurate activity logs and incident reports during each shift
Communicate clearly and professionally with property management, emergency responders, and company supervisors as needed
Required Qualifications
Ability to work overnight shifts independently with minimal supervision
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Professional demeanor and appearance
Ability to conduct frequent foot patrols in a multi-story building
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
Ability to remain alert, attentive, and professional throughout overnight hours
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in residential, condominium, or high-rise security
Experience working solo security posts
Familiarity with access control systems and patrol reporting tools
Valid Tennessee unarmed security license (or ability to obtain)
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to patrol stairs, hallways, and building perimeters
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
Work Environment
Unarmed security post
Indoor and limited outdoor patrols
Overnight residential setting with high expectations for professionalism and accountability
