Job Overview:

We are looking for an Overall Project Leader who guide the dedicated project team from kick off until product(ion) launch, you will be accountable for planning, execution, reporting across all project phases, in line with the Product Creation Process, its deliverables and tollgates.

You will oversee the engineering aspects (requirements, specifications, validation, BOM, drawing releases, etc), the operational aspect of the project (prototypes, procurement, industrialisation and product(ion) launch, etc) together with its commercial aspect (product positioning, marketing readiness, sales alignment, customer interaction, etc) and PMO aspects (toll gate planning, steerco, budget reporting, etc).

You will steer the projects in term of timing, costs, quality and scope throughout the project milestones and deliverables are met according the agreed objectives.

You bring a strong technical background, proven experience in complex product launches in an automotive (like) environment. You have excellent communication & leadership skills. You lead by example, build thrust and create a safe and transparent project environment where your project members are encouraged to raise issues, risks and improvement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities: 

•  Lead technical projects from ideas to market introduction according to Product Creation Process involving all company departments (engineering, operations, marketing, sales)

•  Deliver on time the project milestones & deliverables by providing evidences that the features are at the right quality level, costs within budget and project within it’s scope
•  Good technical product understanding related to mechatronic systems including mechanical, EE and SW modules.
•  Define, align and maintain project objectives, milestones, deliverables and requirements with internal & external partners

•  Manage and structure internal and external communication, ensuring timely, clear and consistent information flow(s)
•  Align product targets with internal teams & partners
•  Estimate, manage and track project resources and financials: number of FTE;  investments, bill of material, assembly costs, etc
•  Create and maintain detailed project timing plans for internal and external use, highlighting the dependencies and the critical path
•  Proactively identify, track and resolve issues, risks and opportunities, including mitigation plans
•  Lead productive project meetings (agenda preparation, chairing and issuing of action notes) to coordinate activities amongst all teams
•  Report accurately, objectively and transparently the project status to management , lead recovery actions when deviations occur
•  Ensure all project deliverables, documentation and your project specific lessons learnt are properly captured, documented and can be used for future Project Creation Process for future projects

Qualifications:

•  You have a degree in engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years experience in Overall Project Management in an engineering context
•  Proven experience in launching at least 1 complex product into the market
•  Solid understanding of development processes of complex products, ideally gearboxes and/or powertrains
•  Able to lead cross-functional teams and to resolve complex technical issues, achieving the best outcome for the business within project timing

•  Able to build and maintain partner confidence through structured communication and professional project management

•  Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen actively, clear reporting and comfortable to present to all levels of management
•  Experience in processing significant amounts of data using Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint /Google Sheets 
•  Experience in working with customer, supplier or other external partners in an international context
•  Ability to create and present timing plans with critical paths and present them, ideally using Click up and/or Think-cell
•  You are fluent in English and have excellent English writing skills – it is not required to have Dutch as a mother tongue
