Outpatient Scribe

Key responsibilities:

Real-time documentation: Accompany providers during patient visits to document medical history, physical exams, lab results, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the EHR.

Chart management: Prepare charts for new patients and update existing ones with current health information and patient encounter details.

Information management: Assist with processing lab orders and other administrative tasks to improve the efficiency of the practice.
Provider support: Act as an assistant to physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners, allowing them to concentrate on patient care rather than administrative tasks.
Order transcription: Transcribe physician orders and other relevant medical information accurately into the patient's record. 

Required skills and qualifications:
Medical terminology: A strong understanding of medical terms, procedures, and equipment is essential.
Attention to detail: Scribes must be meticulous in their documentation to ensure accuracy for billing, compliance, and continuity of care.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with healthcare providers and staff.
EHR experience: Experience with electronic medical records systems is often preferred, though training may be provided.
Computer proficiency: The role requires the ability to work efficiently with computer systems.
Problem-solving: Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
