About the Role
Heather & Little is seeking an Ottawa Branch Operations Manager to run the day-to-day operations of our Ottawa branch. This role is responsible for staff leadership, daily planning, and execution of work across shop and field.
This is an in-person office-based position and requires regular field and site meetings. If you are not comfortable being present, visible, and engaged with crews and projects, this role is not a fit.
The Operations Manager works closely with and provides operational direction to the Project Manager, who reports directly to this position.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily shop and field operations in Ottawa
Assist the Project Manager and oversee coordinating manpower, schedules, and work sequencing
Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are properly planned and resourced
Ensure crews are prepared and supported before mobilization
Identify and resolve operational issues early
Directly manage Ottawa staff, including the Project Manager
Set and enforce expectations for productivity, hours, and conduct
Hold staff accountable and address performance issues promptly
Maintain clear communication with the Operations Coordinator
Participate in planning, coordination, and operations meetings
Enforce safety standards and quality expectations
Represent Heather & Little at site meetings as required
Qualifications
Experience managing construction or fabrication operations
Proven people-management and leadership experience
Comfortable making decisions and holding others accountable
Strong planning, organization, and communication skills
Able to work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
Experience in architectural sheet metal, restoration, roofing, or related trades is an asset

Compensation
Salary Range: $80,000 – $130,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
