The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD drafting skills, experience with GIS platforms, and a deep understanding of permitting processes for utility infrastructure projects. This person must be precise, organized, and capable of delivering high-quality technical documentation under strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities Technical Design & Drafting

Translate field notes, measurements, and utility data into detailed, scaled CAD drawings. Ensure proper representation of technical information for permit submission packages.
GIS Mapping
Use GIS tools (ArcGIS, ESRI, QGIS, or similar) to manage spatial data, align fiber routes with utility grids, and keep digital maps updated and accurate.
Permit Lifecycle Management

Required Qualifications Experience & Technical Skills
Minimum 2 years of experience in utility permitting (Fiber, Power, Gas, or Water). Proven experience creating maps, drawings, and permit packages for utility or infrastructure projects. AutoCAD proficiency is mandatory; must be able to create drawings from scratch. Proficiency with GIS tools (ArcGIS, ESRI, QGIS, or similar). Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Ability to accurately interpret field notes, measurements, and infrastructure layouts. U.S. permitting experience is preferred and will be prioritized.
Core Competencies
High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to navigate unclear or evolving municipal requirements. Deadline-driven with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Recruitment Notes
Candidates with U.S. permitting experience will be prioritized, but others will still be considered. Ideal candidates require minimal training and can become productive quickly. On-site candidates are preferred; remote candidates should not be submitted to start. Candidates are encouraged to provide a portfolio or samples of previous CAD or GIS work when available.
