AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking an Orthotics and Prosthetics Technician in Jamestown, NY. This role supports the fabrication, repair, and preparation of custom orthotic and prosthetic devices used to improve patient mobility and function.
The technician will work closely with clinicians and patient care teams to produce high-quality devices while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work and contributing to life-changing patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
• Fabricate, assemble, and modify orthotic and prosthetic devices based on clinical specifications
• Assist clinicians with device preparation, adjustments, and repairs
• Operate specialized fabrication equipment and tools used in orthotics and prosthetics labs
• Prepare molds, casts, and materials used in device construction
• Maintain accurate records of fabrication processes and device specifications
• Ensure all devices meet quality, safety, and performance standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
• Support inventory management for fabrication materials and components
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely completion of patient devices
Requirements:
• Experience working in orthotics and prosthetics fabrication, medical device production, or a related technical field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with specialized fabrication tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and device instructions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical support environment
• Good communication and teamwork skills when working with clinicians and lab staff
• Ability to lift and handle fabrication materials and equipment as needed
Preferred Experience
• Previous experience in an orthotics and prosthetics lab
• Familiarity with fabrication techniques such as lamination, molding, or device finishing
• Experience working in a healthcare or rehabilitation environment
• Technical training or certification related to orthotics and prosthetics
