Job Summary:
The Orphan Bagroom Attendant role is an integral part of the company’s success. While providing excellent customer service, The Orphan Bagroom Attendant will be handling, documenting and storing misplaced/lost/forgotten passenger luggage in a live operational environment at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
As a Orphan Bagroom Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient handling of passenger luggage at the airport. This position requires physical stamina and attention to detail as you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting baggage. You will work closely with other team members to provide exceptional service to our customers while maintaining safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide excellent customer service
Load and unload to the induction belts safely and correctly.
Load and unload passenger luggage.
Transport passenger luggage from weigh scales to screening machines.
Comply with all airport authority and air carrier security requirements.
Compile and document important information regarding orphan baggage and input that information to WorldTracer operation system.
Communicate directly with airlines regarding luggage in CASS’s possession.
Other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
Valid RAIC (Purple) with ability to maintain Transport Canada security clearance.
Legally entitled to work in Canada; minimum 18 years of age.
Ability to repetitively lift heavy objects unaided and weighing up to 70 lbs.
Ability to engage in a culture of customer service and team collaboration.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Possess training approvals for WorldTracer operating system.
Ability to converse in multiple languages would be an asset.
Must be able to maintain a high degree of alertness for extended periods.
Availability for irregular shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime Previous experience in ground handling, airside operations, or aviation is an asset.
