• Database administration and operating of non-SAP Oracle databases worldwide
• First customer contact for database related topics at the WaferFab Penang
• Creating and implementing globally valid operating concepts and standards for the Oracle databases
• Stable operational of enterprise Oracle-Database Products inclusive customer advisory service regarding IT-strategy, Standard, Architecture, cost benefit analysis to requirements) and implementation of customer orders within of OCC (Oracle Competence Center)
• Participation in the on-call services
• Implementation and operation of "High availability" solutions
• Design analysis and performance tuning
• Release Management: new releases, upgrade planning and implementation
• Installation, administration, monitoring, backup/restores, system management and tuning of Oracle database products
• Application of the ITIL processes (e.g. incident-, problem-, change- Mgmt.) in the context of Oracle Database Product & Services tasks
• Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or extensive practical experience in database administration.
• Technical skills: Several years of experience in managing Oracle databases, including RAC, DataGuard, and Multitenant.
• Consulting: Ability to find the best solution/implementation for the customer.
• Lifecycle management: Experience in managing the lifecycle of an Oracle database.
• Technical skills: Knowledge of network, RHEL, and storage.
• Soft skills: Team player, ability to act as an interface between central IT and the customer, fluency in a language.
• Customer support: Proven expertise in supporting customers in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex application issues.
• General DBA knowledge: Participating in on-call rotations and having a good overall understanding of database administration.
• Analysis methods: Knowledge of using TraceFile Analyzer (TFA), Hanganalyze, etc.
• Performance tuning: Knowledge of in-depth Oracle performance tuning.
• Daily support: Willingness to provide daily support to DBA team members.
• Technical evaluation: Conducting technical evaluations of customer projects from an Oracle perspective (data center failover, application upgrades) and working with vendors if required.
• Working with Oracle support: Collaborating with Oracle support on critical issues following escalation processes
