Optometric Assistant/Optician: Greenspoint/Conroe Health Centers

We are seeking an OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT/OPTICIAN to become a part of our team! You responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Vision centers.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Vision centers

Complete patient pre-workup (medical history, autorefractor, IOP measurement, and pupils) for the doctor

Maintaining office cleanliness and organization of resources

Assist with frame styling customers with correct fitting eye wear, frame, and lens selection. Conclude exam with eyewear selection, sales, and ordering of final glasses/contacts.

Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as auto-refraction tests

Responsible for building and maintaining a robust patient schedule.

Fast paced rewarding environment, multi-tasking from technician responsibilities, optical, and scheduling in real time required.

Assist with frame styling customers with correct fitting eye wear, frame, and lens selection

Answering telephones and scheduling appointments

Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations

Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available

Qualifications

Experience preferred but not required: training provided for optical, and optometry related skills.

Willing to stay up to date in optometry advancements and continued education.

Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm

Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress

Detailed oriented and organized

Great interpersonal skills

Good oral and written communication skills

Willing to travel to multiple locations

Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required

Must be willing to work a rotating schedule between Greenspoint and Conroe Health Centers

Working Conditions

The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required
