We have an opportunity for an Operator to join the team at the Stratford Transfer Station in a part time role.
About the role
We’re looking for a responsible and self-motivated individual to take on a part time, sole charge role at the Stratford Transfer Station. If you enjoy working independently while being a major part of the community, take pride in keeping things running smoothly, and are committed to safety and service, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
• Operate the site independently during your rostered shifts
• Greet and assist customers with waste and recycling drop-offs
• Give advice to customers on waste diversion opportunities
• Operate machinery and equipment safely (training provided)
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant site
• Monitor site activity and report any issues or hazards
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven reliability and ability to work unsupervised
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
• A proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental standards
