Location: Base Metal Refineries (BMR), Rustenburg

The Siding operator is responsible for the safe offloading of chemical reagents used in different production processes on site, assisting the Bulk Administrator in monitoring the tank levels and resolving any queries pertaining to the chemical offloading function and general duties within the department such as Good Housekeeping and identifying any hazards.

• Safe handling and offloading of chemical reagents.
• Verify chemical reagents to be offloaded/received and ensure that the information on the delivery notes/COA is accurate.
• Adhere to the bulk materials operating procedures, to achieve efficiency in the operations.
• Operate all plant equipment and vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Maintain all plant assets correctly, and ensures that they are in fit condition for use.
• Minimize chemical spillages through safe chemical handling and report any leaks/spillages.
• Undertake and maintain high good housekeeping practices at the offloading bay.
• Comply with applicable Health, safety, environment and security regulations.
• Participate positively in team training sessions and meetings.

• Grade 12/Matric, with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science

Experience

• One year materials handling experience
• 6 months hazardous chemical handling experience will be advantageous

Technical skills

• Ability to communicate in English
