Position Purpose: 
Safely and effectively operate and maintain all process equipment in the anaerobic digestion facility. Operators will work with equipment for feedstock unloading, biogas production and upgrading, wastewater treatment, dewatering and processing in the facility.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 
• Perform job duties in a safe manner compliant with policies, procedures and practices.
• Work flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
• Responsible for operating and monitoring all control systems.
• Performs anaerobic digestion process control and preventative maintenance functions.
• Performs rounds on processing equipment, and diagnose basic operational problems and take corrective action per procedure.
• Coordinates and works with maintenance staff and contractors on preventive and corrective maintenance functions.
• Performs cleaning and general housekeeping duties in work areas including office, laboratory, cleaning of degritting and centrifuge, and other process equipment as assigned.
• Will be required to operate automotive equipment, including heavy trucks, forklifts and front-end loaders.
• Adheres to all site safety requirements and regulations, including wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by policy, work practices, and customer.
• May train or assist in the training of OITs and assigned helpers
Work Environment:
• Incumbent will be exposed to varied temperature extremes, noise, fumes, odors, confined spaces, elevated heights, dust, sitting for prolonged times in front of the computer.
Education/Experience/Background: 
• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Degree in related field/or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a chemical processing or wastewater treatment plant.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 
• Capable of being assigned as responsible charge of the facility with an ability to react to unplanned events.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training: 
• Grade IV or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate preferred.
• New Jersey Low Pressure Black Seal Boiler Operator License preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform the following: climbing ladders, straight pulling, reaching above the shoulder, pushing, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, repeated bending and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to distinguish basic colors and various shades.
Pay Range: $36.00 to $41.00 per hour.
