Asphalt Mill Operator

As an Asphalt Mill Operator, you run and maintain milling equipment to remove worn asphalt and prep surfaces for paving. You keep production moving, hit specs, and work safely with the crew.
What you do
Operate asphalt milling machines and support equipment.
Remove existing asphalt to project depth and width requirements.
Follow all safety rules, jobsite plans, and traffic control setups.
Inspect equipment daily and handle routine maintenance:
Greasing
Cleaning
Minor repairs
Monitor milling operations and adjust as needed to meet specs.
Help move and load milling equipment between job sites.
Work closely with the milling crew, paving crews, and foremen.
Complete basic logs for maintenance, production, and issues.
What you bring
Prior asphalt milling experience preferred.
Understanding of asphalt paving operations.
Reliable attendance and availability for regular overtime.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Clear communication and solid teamwork.
Ability to lift heavy parts and work on your feet all day.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Class A CDL preferred.
Acceptable motor vehicle record.
Safety-first mindset. No shortcuts.
Work conditions
Outdoor work in all weather.

Exposure to dust, noise, and active construction zones.
Pay & Benefits
Your hourly rate depends on experience, and many of our projects qualify for Davis-Bacon prevailing wage.
