The Operations Treasury Back Office Lead is an expert role responsible for managing the "Post-Trade Validation," "Settlement & Payment," and "Ongoing Monitoring" phases of the treasury trading process. This role acts as the critical operational "Checker," ensuring that approvals have been completed in trading systems and serves as the primary link between Treasury Trading, Risk, and Finance Accounting. You will manage the Banking Book process flow via JIRA and ensure accuracy across systems such as ZEB.Trading, Broadridge, SWIFT, and SAP.

The role requires close collaboration with Finance Accounting to ensure trade entries (investment assets and cash movements) are booked correctly in the General Ledger. You will be responsible for archiving confirmations and payment proofs to ensure audit readiness.

Your Role

Post-Trade Validation & Control

• Trade Verification: Cross-check executed trade details against pre-trade approvals and broker confirmations to ensure accuracy before processing.

• System Approval: Act as the "Checker" in ZEB.Trading, ensuring that all necessary "Maker" approvals have been completed by the Treasury Front Office.

• Settlement Validation: Validate settlement instructions (SSI), custodian accounts, and value dates to ensure precise execution.

• Counterparty Confirmation: Manage the confirmation process by confirming trades with external counterparties via email and sending the final confirmation package to Finance Accounting.

• Documentation: Ensure all trade documentation is complete and archived correctly.

• Settlement & Payment Execution

• Payment Authorization: Verify "4-eye control" and dual authorization within the payment system before releasing funds.

• SWIFT Execution: oversee the release of payment requests to the Payments Back Office and execute SWIFT instructions to settle purchases.

• Completion Confirmation: Confirm payment completion using SWIFT MT900/910 or custodian statements and immediately notify Treasury, FRM Middle Office, and Treasury Back Office of settlement completion.

• Process Workflow: Manage the status of trades (e.g., "Settled," "Confirmed") utilizing JIRA tickets to track the end-to-end process flow.

• Lifecycle Management & Ongoing Monitoring

• Cashflow & Coupon Management: Track cashflows and manage the "Fixing of Coupons" for Floating Rate Notes, ensuring ZEB.Trading is updated accordingly.

• Maturity Monitoring: Monitor upcoming maturities, early redemptions, and payment flows (principal and final coupon) to support Finance in derecognizing assets.

• Reconciliation: Collaborate with FRM Middle Office to maintain monthly account statements from custodians and assist in reconciling ZEB price updates.

• Redemption: Manage the redemption and closing of positions within SAP and SWIFT upon maturity.

• Stakeholder Engagement & System Optimization

• Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the liaison between the Treasury Trading desk, Credit Risk (FRM), and Finance Accounting to facilitate seamless communication regarding trade bookings and settlement.

• Incident Management: Resolve operational issues regarding settlement instructions or payment failures swiftly.

• System Enhancement: Lead initiatives to streamline processes between Bloomberg, ZEB.Trading, and Broadridge/SWIFT, supporting the automation of treasury operations.

• Audit & Documentation Readiness

• Lead preparation for internal/external audits by maintaining complete audit trails, providing evidence of trade approvals, settlement confirmations, and system reconciliations.
