The Emerald Cloud Laboratory (ECL) enables life scientists to move out of the lab, and to conduct research entirely from a computer. Stepping away from manual completion of experiments at the bench, scientists on the ECL leverage the remote, automated execution of all standard biology and chemistry experiments in Emerald’s industrial lab facilities, working within a software platform for all stages of research workflows, from experimental design to data analysis. Our system empowers scientists at Big Pharma companies, startups, and academic laboratories by allowing them to run wet lab experiments from anywhere in the world without ever stepping foot into the lab.
Job Description:
Members of the Operations team are responsible for providing the on site technical support required to ensure timely execution of experiments within the lab. As an Operations Lead, you will work closely with the Shift Manager on duty to motivate, assist, and provide guidance to 15-25 team members.
It's an intellectually challenging role, requiring dynamic problem-solving, excellent people management skills, and troubleshooting prowess. A successful individual in this role will become familiar with all operations within the lab, getting to know the processes, hardware and software, used to carry out experiments in the cloud lab.
As an Operations Lead, you will be a key voice in driving for continuous improvement. Whether resolving logistic issues in the warehouse or identifying ways to improve productivity of team members, this role requires a firm commitment to data driven solutions.
About You:
You might be a great fit for the Operations Lead role if …
You have 2+ years of experience leading small teams to improved productivity & quality (strongly preferred)
You have 3+ years experience working in a GMP or Life Sciences environment
You have experience applying systematic troubleshooting methodologies to complex technical problems
You are capable and willing to learn computer programming (no prior experience necessary, but it is a welcome bonus!)
You are familiar with common industry best practices (Lean, Six Sigma, etc)
You are excited about working in a dynamic fast paced startup environment
Compensation:
Salaried Position: $60,000 - $65,000
Available Shifts: Evening Shift
Available Schedules: Sunday to Wednesday and Wednesday to Saturday
