We’re seeking an experienced Operations Production Manager to lead field operations, maximize productivity, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
Position Summary
The Operations Production Manager will oversee day-to-day field operations, manage production crews, coordinate scheduling and logistics, and enforce safety and quality standards. This role combines operational leadership, crew mentoring, and continuous improvement to meet production targets while maintaining high customer service and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate field jobs to optimize crew utilization and meet customer timelines.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate production crews (foremen, climbers, ground crew, equipment operators).
- Monitor job progress and quality; perform site inspections and final job walk-throughs.
- Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA and industry best practices; lead toolbox talks and training.
- Manage equipment allocation, maintenance schedules, and supplies to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with sales/estimating to review job scopes, clarify requirements, and support pre-job planning.
- Track production metrics, prepare reports, and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Respond to emergency/storm calls as needed and coordinate rapid deployment of crews.
- Maintain clear internal and external communication regarding schedules, delays, and job status.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management for field staff.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in tree care operations, arboriculture, or related field with progressive supervisory responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews and coordinate complex field logistics.
- Strong knowledge of tree work operations (removal, pruning, rigging, chipping, stump grinding), equipment, and safety protocols.
- Certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist, TCIA Safety Certification, or equivalent are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with scheduling/dispatch software, mobile communication tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions, lift equipment as needed, and travel between job sites.
