Operations Manager - Life Insurance
We are partnering with a privately held, rapidly expanding financial services organization in the life insurance space seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize core operational functions across domestic and international markets. The Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, compliance, and scalability of day-to-day operations. This individual will oversee workflows across policy administration, claims, underwriting support, and reinsurance coordination—while driving process improvements and supporting cross-functional initiatives. This is a highly dynamic role where no two days look the same. Success requires strong operational expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to navigate both strategic initiatives and hands-on execution!
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations including policy issuance, claims processing, premium collection, and administration
Design, implement, and optimize operational workflows and standard operating procedures
Ensure adherence to U.S. and international regulatory and compliance standards
Partner with Legal and Compliance on evolving regulatory requirements
Identify operational risks and implement controls to mitigate exposure
Develop and present performance reporting, KPIs, and operational metrics to upper management
Lead, mentor, and develop operational staff
Manage relationships with external partners, brokers, and vendors
Requirements:
Over 5 years of experience in life insurance operations, administration, or related leadership roles
Strong understanding of: Life insurance products and policy lifecycle, Regulatory and compliance frameworks, Claims, underwriting, and reinsurance processes
Proven experience managing cross-functional operations and process improvement initiatives
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities (KPIs, performance metrics, operational insights)
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
