What you'll do

We're looking for an Operations Excellence Associate to drive operational excellence within our Credit Desk. At Clara, our ability to scale across Latin America depends on robust, rigorous, and efficient underwriting processes. You will ensure that our teams in Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia consistently follow global standards while identifying opportunities to lean into automation and best practices.


Drive operational excellence within our Credit Desk and key growth processes across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.


Conduct periodic operational reviews to maintain process rigor in our underwriting procedures and implement best-in-class improvements.


Collaborate closely with regional Control Desk teams, providing actionable feedback to enhance their accuracy and performance.


Support underwriting activities directly during capacity constraints to ensure seamless business continuity.


Partner with inbound sales teams to streamline the collection of prospect documentation and accelerate the onboarding experience.


Develop and maintain clear process documentation, reports, and performance metrics using Google Drive and Metabase to highlight trends and risks.


Audit automated processes periodically to ensure our tech is working as intended and eliminate operational blind spots.

Who you are

Must haves


Minimum of 2 years in operational roles, preferably in process optimization or underwriting within fintechs or financial institutions.


Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset to interpret data and pinpoint inefficiencies.


Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to engage diverse teams across multiple geographies.


Adaptability and proactivity to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.


Working proficiency in English and Portuguese.


Experience or interest in AI tools to automate manual workflows and documentation audits.


Proven execution in a regulated industry or technical environment.

Nice to haves


Background in operational risk management, lean methodologies, or continuous improvement frameworks.


Familiarity with underwriting platforms, CRM systems like Hubspot, or workflow tools like N8N.


Experience monitoring KPIs and implementing data-driven enhancements using Metabase or SQL.


Professional proficiency in Spanish or a desire to learn.


A good sense of humor.
