About our Client
Kaizen Talent Solutions are working in partnership with a specialist automotive business to help recruit an Operations Director to support both of its manufacturing facilities in Northamptonshire. My client provides low-mid volume, specialist products to a range of global customers. Privately owned and with an internationally renowned customer base, my Client is a market leader in the design, innovation and production of its specialist products. The business has strong growth plans, and hence is looking to strengthen its senior management team.
Job Description
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Director will oversee all operational responsibility for both UK sites; the help with the onboarding, the candidate will initially focus on the larger site before expanding the role. This is a newly created role and will require the incumbent, with the support of the board, to develop and deploy a practical manufacturing plan that will contribute to the company’s success through on-time-in-full, right-first-time, efficient production.
As Operations Director, you will be tasked with the development of your team through effective communication, coaching and training. In line with the principles of the Board, you will provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate best practice and improved working relationships.
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
• A strong manufacturing background ideally within automotive
• Ideally an engineering degree
• Extensive experience of working with operational responsibility within a specialist, high quality manufacturing environment
• Experience of driving lean methodology in a low volume/ batch manufacturing environment
• Experience in implementing best practices in operations, quality systems, and health & safety
• Cultivated positive working relationships with employees, peers and superiors
• A tenacious/self-starter attitude with a will to succeed by doing the right thing for the customers, employees, and business
