Northland Fleet Services is a heavy equipment and light vehicle repair business in Tumbler Ridge, BC, serving the coal mining industry and oilpatch industries in Northeast BC. Northland Fleet Services is a long-term member of LaPrairie Group of Companies.

Job Description:
Provide the Business Manager and Executive with timely financial and operational analysis and data that will optimize and promote day-to-day profitability and efficiency.
Ensure accuracy, proper coding and timeliness of financial information.
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Manage accounting staff to ensure accuracy and processing timelines are met – accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing and payroll.
Review, prepare and ensure payment of GST, PST and other applicable taxes.
Manage taxation audits when they arise.
Use in-house software programs to gather necessary financial data required for financial analysis and reporting.
Other related accounting duties as required or assigned.
Requirements:
5+ years full-cycle senior accounting.
CPA or accounting designation is an asset, but not a requirement.
Previous work experience at equipment repair shops, car dealerships, or fleet maintenance facilities would be a definite asset.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
Ability to communication professionally – both verbally and in writing.
Ability to build and maintain great relationships with managers and co-workers.
Ability to maintain good customer and vendor relationships is a benefit.
Good organizational and time management skills.
