Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operational Technology Consultant with strong expertise in process automation, equipment integration, and data architecture to support a highly regulated advanced manufacturing environment within the life sciences industry.

The consultant will contribute to integration design, system implementation, validation support, and operational excellence initiatives across GMP and non GMP environments. The role requires close collaboration with cross functional stakeholders, global technology teams, and external automation suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform OSIsoft PI engineering activities, including the creation and maintenance of PI Taglists and AF Templates across PI Core and PIRaDS environments
• Design and document integration concepts for new hardware and systems in alignment with enterprise architecture standards
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for Siemens PCS7 environments, including FDS, SDS, and equipment documentation
• Support equipment lifecycle integration while ensuring compliance with defined reference architecture frameworks
• Provide technical expertise across control and analytical systems such as Siemens PCS7, Cytiva UNICORN, Empower, Chromeleon, and related platforms
• Ensure harmonization of automation architecture across multiple production sites
• Contribute to the design and evolution of complex automation ecosystems in regulated manufacturing environments
• Coordinate technical deliverables with external automation suppliers and technology partners
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, global ARTs, IT and OT teams, system architects, and vendors
• Act as subject matter expert for automation standards, integration principles, and best practices within global Agile Release Trains
• Facilitate and lead technical workshops focused on equipment and device integration
• Conduct periodic IT and OT service performance reviews to ensure operational service levels are achieved

Requirements:
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• 8 to 10 years of experience in process automation, industrial system integration, or manufacturing automation
• Mandatory proficiency in German and English
• Hands on experience with at least one of the following systems: Siemens PCS7, OSIsoft PI (Core and PIRaDS), Cytiva UNICORN
• Experience within biopharmaceutical or advanced life sciences manufacturing environments
• Solid understanding of GMP, GxP, CSV methodologies, and regulated system landscapes
• Experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and structured problem solving capabilities in complex automation environments
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills across technical and business stakeholders
• Experience operating effectively in Agile and SAFe delivery models
• Ability to translate contractual deliverables into well defined Agile user stories aligned with SAFe ceremonies and release cadence
