A Day in The Life Of:

As a Workshop OpEx Technician, no two days are the same, but every day is an opportunity to make a tangible impact. You start your morning by reviewing the day's priorities, aligning with the Operational Excellence team on key projects and tasks. Whether it's implementing 5S strategies to optimize workspace organization or identifying process bottlenecks, you are laser-focused on finding practical solutions. Later, you’re on the workshop floor, collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess current workflows. You might be tweaking a workstation layout for improved efficiency or testing a new process change that minimizes downtime. Your hands-on approach ensures that every improvement is practical, effective, and sustainable, ensuring all changes are functioning as intended and addressing any immediate feedback from team members. You leave knowing that your efforts are helping Medtronic deliver on its mission of improving lives through operational excellence.

Key Skills & Experience

Success as a Workshop OpEx Technician requires strong practical problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude, with hands-on experience working on the shop floor. You’ll need expertise in tools, equipment, and machinery, as well as familiarity with 5S principles to optimize workflows and physical spaces. Attention to detail is key for ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity, while strong collaboration skills enable you to work with cross-functional teams to implement practical solutions. Adaptability is essential in this dynamic, fast-paced environment were innovation drives success.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).
