Sales Support
Specific Responsibilities
• At all times, complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
• Assists in the compilation of documentation required for RFPs – certifications, resumes, etc.
• Generates quotes that are accurate and branded according to SGS standards
• Inputs quotations and RFPs into CRM systems
• Assists in follow up notifications on older existing deals
• Updates client owners, client names, and other information, as needed, in CRM systems
• Serves as the main points of contact for ship owners and other customers requesting SGS services
• Engages with customers to develop relationships based on trust and competence 
• Markets research to include the following:• Internet search for articles on vertical markets, e.g. PFAS, Air, etc.
• Lead generation and customer information: Search for contact lists in various markets (e.g, water districts)
• Competitor website review and intel summary
• Updates data in LIMS for Affiliates.
• Communicates, as required, with ISMs and other internal staff.
• Develops skills and knowledge to progress in your career.
• Develops trust by providing timely responses to all inquiries, whether by phone or email.
• Promotes a positive “Can do!” attitude and a safe working environment.
• Be knowledgeable and compliant with SGS procedures and standards.
• Takes initiative in all we do and perform other duties as required to further SGS mission of service, quality and growth.
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships.
• Adopts and supports specific operational improvement activities as communicated by the GBS Team Lead. These projects will focus on the improvement of quality, efficiency, accreditation, communication and technical improvement.

• Ensures work area in GBS is kept clean and presentable at all times.
• Remains familiar with SGS quality assurance procedures.

Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related science, or an Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related science, and four years of industry experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Intermediate personal computer skills including email, Microsoft Office, job task applications, Internet, On-line data system.
• Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.
• Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); and color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).
• Travel is negligible.
 
Customer Services Jr.
Specific Responsibilities
• At all times, complies with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure prompt and appropriate responses to customer needs.
• Outlines the scope, quotes, schedules, and coordinate the dispatch of sample collection and analysis projects to field and laboratory assets in their territory
• Act as the liaison and advocate for the customer’s needs, requests, and requirements when leveraging SGS and/or non-SGS Samplers, Laboratories, Management, Sales, and Business Development resources to complete projects
• Consult with customers to develop analysis protocols, create testing schedules and interpret results.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, onboard treatment systems, and SGS policies, procedures, and service offerings
• Engage with customers to develop relationships based on trust and competence
• Facilitate operational excellence by communicating customer needs and organizational best practices to internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate solutions to increase customer satisfaction and workplace efficiency
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Intermediate personal computer skills including email, Microsoft Office, job task applications, Internet, On-line data system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+ or C1).
 
Data Validator
Specific Responsibilities
• Performs various data processing functions, including laboratory data calculations and integrations, quality control checks, LIMS entries, and other data management functions as required.
• Ensures lab deadlines are met and the GBS Team Coordinator (or section Lab Manager in their absence) is notified immediately if the turnaround time specified cannot be met.
• Ensures all testing methodology and quality control procedures are performed according to ISO17025 and assigned SGS lab standards where applicable.
• Keeps Affiliate Manager, GBS Supervisor and any other key Affiliate personnel informed immediately of all operational issues, including: • Personnel matters affecting performance
• Failure to meet turnaround requirements
• Failure to meet ISO17025, country certifications and assigned SGS lab standards where applicable
• Inconsistencies in quality control procedures so they may be rectified immediately
• Additional training requirements identified
Profile
• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree, Chemistry is strongly preferred.
• A minimum of one-year working experience with chromatography instruments is required (LC or GC), Mass spectrophotometry knowledge is preferred.
• Lab testing experience with Food matrix is preferred, with Environmental samples is an advantage.
• ”Chromalion” and/or ”MassHunter” and/or ”MultiQuant” and/or ”Analyst” software platforms knowledge is a plus.
• Demonstrated commitment to data quality and operational excellence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify minor discrepancies.
• Strong sense of responsibility for the quality and integrity of the work assigned.
• Proficient in effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
