Wolcen Studio is looking for a Senior Online Software Engineer to join the Online team for our exciting game project Gods, Death & Reapers (GDR) in Unreal Engine 5. We are looking for a software engineer who enjoy prototyping, working on server infrastructure, adding new features to the game and improving existing code. The ideal candidate is organised, self-motivated and must work well with others, enjoy and seek out collaboration.

This is a full-time position, fully remote anywhere from Europe.

Responsibilities:

- Take ownership of online systems

- Improve and maintain server infrastructure, live systems and workflows.

- Implement back-end authoritative features using internal application platform

- Create client and server code to support online features and improve multiplayer experiences.

- Improve client and server online systems to improve latency, reliability, scalability, performance and memory.

Requirements:

- Strong experience in multiplayer game development with a C++ and back-end technologies focus.

- Experience with networked applications or features (client/server).

- Experience in back-end development and technologies: Rest API, Test driven development (TDD), data pipelines (ETL), Web Sockets, Git, Typescript, Cloud providers

- Experience with database technologies (e.g. SQL, No-SQL, Redis).

- Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP).

- Nice to have an experience with development of Matchmaking service.

- Great sense of communication and being a team player.

- Fluent English
