Columbia University's Pre-College Programs offer immersive academic experiences for high-achieving high school students from around the world. To assist in the execution of the program, the University hires individuals who have completed at least one academic year of study at an American college or university by the start of the program.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Pre-College, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks to support the Pre-College Programs at the School of Professional Studies. The Pre-College Online Program Facilitator will serve as an assistant to an instructor in the coordination of online classroom logistics and administrative tasks. Administrative tasks include but are not limited to Canvas document uploads (prior to the start of the course and while the course is in session) and student evaluation letter proofreading. Program Facilitators will also support social media content collection and administration. 
RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM FACILITATOR
• Attend training sessions and modules to learn the online curricular technology used in the virtual classroom. Technologies include, but are not limited to, CourseWorks and Zoom
• Perform duties in a classroom support capacity as assigned by the program or their designated instructor(s)
• Be available to their assigned instructor(s) or program leadership for training and preparation tasks related to the course and its execution in addition to regularly scheduled course hours
• Proofread an estimated 400+ student evaluation letters written by instructors
• Manage and organize proofreading documents in Google Drive folders and update the supervisor with daily progress reports
• Support social media content collection and administration
• Collaborate with the Student Life team to assist in the execution of co-curricular programs
• Act as a model of proper behavior and attitude at all times for the students of the program
• Attend staff meetings as scheduled
Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma or High School equivalency diploma
• Must have completed at least one academic year of study at an American college or university by the start of the program
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Zoom and Canvas
• Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative team setting
• Ability to work independently on multiple work streams
• Ability to handle confidential information in a mature, professional manner
• Passion for social media content creation and management
The rate of pay for this role is $23.00/hour. Those hired can expect 10-15 hours per week
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Must undergo a mandatory background check – employment contingent upon results
• Must be located in the United States for the duration of employment
