Role Summary: We are seeking a Strategic Project Management Intern within OBU Global Medical Affairs to join our team. As a Strategic Project Management Intern in Global Medical Affairs Oncology, you will support portfolio and program delivery across GMA initiatives. You will learn and apply foundational project management, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills to help coordinate workstreams that enhance medical ways of working, enable launch readiness, and improve organizational efficiency. Working in a matrix environment, you will partner with tumor franchise teams, Centers of Excellence, and regional stakeholders to track actions, synthesize progress, and contribute to materials that support leadership decision‑making. Accountabilities/Responsibilities: Collaborate with GMA leaders to organize scorecard inputs, value metrics, and meeting materials that reflect progress against strategic goals and sustainability targets. Contribute to process simplification and documentation (templates, playbooks, checklists) to drive consistent ways of working across oncology medical initiatives. Contribute to 1–2 priority workstreams focused on optimizing Global‑to‑Local medical ways of working (e.g., Medical Integrated Teams governance, integrated evidence planning, annual medical planning). Assist in preparing executive‑ready updates and presentations that summarize risks, mitigations, and delivery status across GMA initiatives. Help monitor the GMA functional plan by maintaining timelines, interdependencies, and lightweight budgets or phasing trackers Qualifications: Currently pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in a science, engineering, healthcare, business, or related field. Demonstrated interest in project management and healthcare/biopharma; exposure to oncology or medical affairs is beneficial. Proficiency with productivity tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel) and comfort learning project management platforms or SharePoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex information into clear narratives. Proven self‑starter with a collaborative approach, accountability for deliverables, and openness to feedback. Candidates must have an expected graduation date after August 2026. Available to work full-time for duration of the internship Desirable Skills/Experience: Formal or informal exposure to project management (coursework, student projects, internships) or certifications in progress (e.g., CAPM, PMP coursework). Familiarity with pharmaceutical product development, medical affairs deliverables (medical plans, scientific narratives, publication planning), or launch excellence concepts. Experience with analytics, dashboards, or basic reporting; interest in using AI‑enabled tools to improve ways of working. Change management fundamentals, including process mapping, implementation support, and clear communication across diverse stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate across functions, geographies, and cultures; comfort with a matrixed environment. Entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, and structured problem‑solving; eagerness to use data, insights, and technology to improve efficiency. Stakeholder engagement within Global Medical Affairs (global and markets) and across the OBU enterprise, with attention to clarity, consistency, and follow‑through. Organization and prioritization skills with attention to detail, ownership of tasks, and reliability in meeting deadlines. What to Expect: This role is a 4-month paid contract position, which starts in June 2026. Our position will be based in our Mississauga head office and allow for flexible working arrangements working both onsite (2-3 times per week) and virtually. Annual base salary for this position ranges from $41,495.20 to $54,462.45. AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs. In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances. In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role). Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days.
