Job Description

Wonderful College Prep Academy is a charter network in California's Central Valley committed to providing a world-class education for all students. In 2016, we moved to our new, state-of-the-art college prep campus in Delano, and in the Fall of 2017, added an elementary school in Delano and opened a second charter school in Lost Hills. In Delano, we serve over 1,800 students in grades TK-12, while in Lost Hills, we serve over 400 students in grades TK-12.

WCPA is accepting applications for On-Call Classified Substitutes for Instructional Assistants, Office Assistants, and Campus Supervisors. Schedule and hours vary based on assignment.

 Instructional Assistants' duties:

• Assist in the planning and implementation of educational, intervention, and enrichment activities that align with program goals.
• Support student engagement and positive behavior through organized activities and supervision.
• Ensure the safety and supervision of students during school hours.
• Assist with record-keeping, including daily attendance, and provide administrative support.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for students and staff.
• Collaborate with program staff and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols in all activities.
• Attend professional development sessions and staff meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Office Assistant Duties:

• Perform general clerical duties, including answering phones, taking and distributing messages, sorting mail, translating documents, and preparing general correspondence
• Help with filing, data entry, and maintaining student records.
• Provide support to the leadership team and teachers as necessary
• Responsible for department supply order purchases.
• Responsible for securing sub coverage for the school site & distributing necessary sub plans/documentation
• Other office duties as assigned.

Campus Supervisor duties:

• Supervise and direct student movement as needed
• Monitor general campus, parking lots, and adjacent areas to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff
• Report unauthorized or suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities to administrative staff
• Assists with fire drills and other emergency building evacuations
• Other supervision duties as assigned. 

• Experience working in educational or after-school programs is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or equivalent).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to varying schedules and program needs.

• Professionalism in handling confidential information.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing program needs.
• Time management and multitasking abilities.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Office environment; fast-paced work, constant interruptions.
• Physical requirements: Hearing and speaking to exchange information, make presentations and communicate over the telephone; seeing to read, prepare, and proofread documents and view computer monitors; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment; kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, to retrieve and store files and supplies; lifting light objects; ability to go to sites apart from primary office to conduct business.

Pay: $18.00/hour.

• Wonderful College Prep Academy offers highly competitive compensation, commensurate with experience. 
• Full-time staff benefits include medical coverage, dental, vision, and life insurance at no cost to the employee. We also offer an optional 403b, with company match, as a supplement to STRS retirement pension. In addition, employees have free access to the Wonderful Wellness Center and gym.
