Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Health & Safety Lead to join our team in Guyana at the Oko West Mine Site.
Lead the implementation and monitoring of the Health & Safety Management System at the Oko West Mine Site, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations, identifying hazards and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
Provide guidance and training to employees and contractors to promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to safe work procedures.
Collaborate with project management and operational teams to integrate health and safety considerations into all project activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Minimum education: Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety and/or relevant experience in the construction mining industry.
Relevant experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in health and safety management for old mining construction projects.
Additional skills: Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, risk management, and incident investigation techniques; excellent communication, leadership, and training skills.
Salary Range: Negotiable.
Employment Type: Temporary contract for the duration of the construction.
Working Hours: Rotation schedule: 23 of work followed by 19 days off.
