Our Profile
In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Truck Operator
We are seeking experienced and safety-conscious Truck Operators to join our team at our mining operation. You will be responsible for operating heavy-duty haul trucks in a production environment, contributing to safe and efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate trucks (e.g., CAT 785, 789, 793, Komatsu 830E, etc.) to transport ore, waste, and other materials across the mine site.
Perform pre-start checks and report any maintenance or safety issues.
Adhere to site safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and environmental regulations.
Work collaboratively with dispatch, loaders, and other operators to optimize production.
Maintain accurate logbooks and documentation as required.
Communicate effectively via radio and follow instructions from supervisors and control rooms.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
Valid driver’s license with Motor Lorry (ML)Class
Proof of competencies, (e.g. operating certifications), would be an asset.
Additional
A strong safety focus with a proactive attitude toward workplace health and safety.
Ability to work a rotating roster, including night shifts and weekends
Working Conditions
Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
Compensation Package
1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation.
