Nutritionist
To provide a critical role as Nutritionist, working as a key member of GMining Camp Kitchen. This wellbeing service includes health management services for employees.
The post holder will:
In line with the food guidelines, be responsible and accountable for the delivery of high quality, evidence-based nutrition advice for employees seeking a better lifestyle
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, provide expert advice and support, to ensure excellent employees healthcare
Play a pivotal role within an innovative, forward-thinking and dynamic multi-disciplinary team and service at Gmining
Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties
Provide comprehensive assessment of nutritional needs in order to develop care plans to address nutritional needs
Evaluate nutritional needs for the employees with guidance across the food guidelines
Assist in menu planning and introduction of new recipes according food guidelines
Support the nutritional development, delivery, evaluation and quality assurance of the integrated service for the menus and provide key nutritional expertise for the menus planning
Facilitate and empower kitchen employees to change behaviour and adopt positive lifestyle changes by providing health education and high-quality nutritional counselling regarding healthy eating
To attend multiple meeting’s department to provide nutrition input regarding food guidelines and to ensure supporting and proactive healthy lifestyle
Accountable for ensuring programme delivery is monitored using validated tools to collect and analyse employee performance outcome measures and evaluation, to ensure that the contractual KPI’s are achieved and an excellent service demonstrated; critical and rigorous implementation of all validated measures at key milestones across the services provided
Assist the development of continual service improvement for the kitchen staff and the menus
Comply with hygienic and sanitary standards as well as safety at work
Manage and solve problems quickly and efficiently
Any other tasks assigned by the Executive Chef
Skills & Knowledge
Ability to produce detailed and accurate employee nutrition care plans.
A commitment to continuous service improvement with expert insight into employees’ needs, so that all persons receive high quality care.
Proven ability to relate, motivate and confidently engage individuals in activities and discussion as part of a group and in a 1:1 situation.
Knowledge of weight management, nutrition and physical activity in relation to health improvement.
Accuracy and speed in handling emergencies and providing solutions
Qualifications
Relevant degree/postgraduate bachelor’s degree in nutritional science, dietetics, or a minimum of 2 years' experience in this field
Member of the Association for Nutrition in Guyana
Working Conditions
Position based at the OKO Project site.
Work Schedule – 14 days on / 7 days off
Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site
