Our Profile
In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Inventory Controller
The Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring that the warehouse is always stocked with the most economical quantities needed to keep operations running smoothly without shortages. This includes tracking all inventory control responsibilities under minimal supervision and following established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that the weekly replenishment report is run and reviewed, and that requisitions are initiated based on needs.
Monitor the processing and review of requests for item creation by obtaining pricing for the requested items, applying appropriate min/max values, and sending for management's approval.
Ensure that items are created in SAP via automatic upload in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure that the daily back-order report is run, reviewed, and actions are taken where required.
Constantly monitor and review the stock supply, approving suggestions and improvements/changes to min/max levels.
Review inventory audits regarding daily cycle counts conducted by the warehouse (10% audit check).
Monitor and ensure timely feedback is provided to end-users regarding out-of-stock items, item information, or any other stock-related information.
Complete month-end reports for inventory control.
Review and resolve any issues with inventory line items (system-wise/physical).
Interact with other sections within Supply Chain (Purchasing/ Logistics/ Warehouse/ Major Consumables/Customs) and to support SCM’s activities.
Report the status of Inventory activities to the Senior Inventory Controller or his/her designate on a regular basis.
Recommend measures to improve the quality of service and increase the efficiency of the department and work activities.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
Diploma in Supply Chain Management or designate Certificate in Procurement and Supply Management
3-5 years of work experience in Supply Chain Management
Training in Procurement/Materials Management /PMAC Level 3
Strong analytical and supervisory skills
Consistent accuracy in administration
Demonstrated negotiating skills
Must possess high ethical and professional standards in all dealings
Strong time management and work prioritizations skills
Knowledge of Warehousing, Inventory & Logistics operating procedures
Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
Ability to work either independently or as part of a team
Ability to organize and set priorities, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and manage distractions
Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and pay close attention to details
Must possess mentoring and coaching skills
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal in English
Working Conditions
Position based at the OKO Project site - Fly-in/Fly-out
Work Schedule – 28 days on/14 days off
Transportation, accommodation, and meals are provided on site
