Position summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions. These functions are of moderate complexity and the incumbent performs them using established instructions.
Primary Duties:
• Provides general information about the University (general admissions info, programs, student life, living in Montreal, etc.) to prospective students.
• Greets students and other visitors to answer general inquiries about the University (programs, student life, living in Montreal, etc.) with a positive attitude.
• Uses the current recruiting software to help the Welcome Centre supervisor plan, schedule and track activities such as campus tours, virtual presentations, drop-in sessions and 1:1 meetings hosted by Student Ambassadors.
• Collects and compiles drop-in visitor statistics.
• Supporting the Welcome Center Supervisor in creating and updating the staff schedules and monitoring campus tours and event registration.
• Provides administrative support for the Welcome Centre such as answering the phone, responding to emails and assisting in various administrative tasks (ex. helping with the setting up and taking down of signs, equipment, etc. during on-campus events.)
• Works with the Unit on MS TEAMS to maintain communication and organization of recruitment activities.
• Supports other recruitment activities and events.
• Supports the verification of newly admitted students' status for Entering class Facebook.
• Liaises with McGill professors to create a list of classes accessible to prospective students participating in the Student for a Day program.
• Could be called upon to take visitors on campus tours.

Knowledge of English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 on a scale of 0-4.
