As an Oceans Technologist Student Intern, you will be responsible for preparing for sea trials, marine mammal monitoring, acoustic tank testing, electronics testing, developing & deploying specialized equipment, and analyzing data. We’re looking for someone detail-oriented and passionate about their work, with an ongoing desire improve their skills.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and test necessary equipment for sea trials
Deploy and retrieve specialized equipment (hydrophones, arrays, CTDs, acoustic releases, v-wings, data loggers, & other acoustic devices)
Ensure products tested conform to manufacturing specifications
Conduct specialized testing
Manage project builds
Analyze calibration data and prepare reports
Prepare testing plans for various types of calibrations
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in the Oceans Technology Program
Competent with Microsoft Word & Excel
Basic understanding of acoustic principals
Passionate about Ocean Technologies
Good teamwork and communication skills
Detail oriented and well organized
Security Requirements
All candidates must be eligible to apply for and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
