Why this role matters:
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operations of the windfarm under your control, located in the Belgium North Sea. You will occasionally go offshore to follow-up on works. Your focus will lay on managing the turbine assets of the windfarm and, assistance to the colleagues managing other windfarms and/or campaigns when needed. For the O&M turbine operations, you can rely on long-term contract with a service provider, cooperate with colleagues of the WTG team and, other O&M teams. Furthermore, you will follow up specific campaigns (yearly maintenance, blade campaign) on the windfarm.
In this role you will:
• Manage the interface with the long-term service provider from both technical as contractual point of view. This includes:
• Follow-up daily activities both onshore and offshore, with occasional offshore visits.
• Liaise between the service provider and other O&M teams / external parties.
• Lead monthly meetings and monitor contractual KPI’s.
• Challenge the contractor with substantiated technical analysis.
• Supervise relevant turbine and maintenance data with regards to KPI’s and technical challenges. Identify possibilities for better performance, better maintenance or better yield. Ensure punctual reporting on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly frequency for different type of stakeholders.
• Investigate opportunities for new turbine maintenance strategies.
• Manage data-analytics tools to enhance data in order to optimize operations and increase knowledge.
• Follow-up on offshore work activities.
• Follow-up on SCADA issues. Both for improvement towards the future as for day-to-day incidents.
• Interface with our energy offtake partners.
You will work from the Ostend office, the heart of our offshore wind operations.
• The whole team managing O&M WTG operations for the Belgian sites is based in Ostend. While there is a homeworking policy, we believe in strong team collaboration. You will spend a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
• Offshore realities require flexibility. You may be asked last minute to go offshore. Being based in Ostend allows you to respond quickly when needed.
• Assistance on the maintenance of one GE turbine is required and can only be done from Ostend office.
• Our main contractor is located next door and face to face meetings are frequently (re-) occurring.
