JOB DESCRIPTION
PROGRAM NAME: Nutrition Department
POSITION TITLE: Nutrition Program Assistant
REPORTS TO: Director of Nutrition
JOB SUMMARY:
Maintain accurate weekly & monthly documentation of Johnson City Homebound for Choices, State & Title III, hot, frozen & shelf stable meals.
Coordinate with Registered Dietitians to create monthly menus with the required daily, weekly nutrients.
Recruit and train volunteers for homebound delivery programs.
Deliver homebound meals in the absence of appropriate volunteers or other personnel.
Complete daily tasks and responsibilities as the Watauga Mealsite Coordinator.
Work closely with office staff to complete and submit accurate required paperwork according to established schedules.
Notify all required personnel in a timely manner of any consumer changes such as when a consumer is not home or when the meals are not delivered.
Assist Director with day-to-day operation of nutrition programs.
Attend workshops and training sessions as required.
Cooperate with all networking agencies.
Establish and maintain communication and professional working relationships with funding sources, community leaders, partnering agencies, and consumers of services.
Abide by Agency and program rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Agency Personnel Policy Manual.

REQUIREMENTS AND ABILITIES:
High School diploma or GED required, four-year college preferred. Must have good communication and organizational skills and be able to work independently. Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must have reliable transportation and be able use personal vehicle for travel in eight county region. Ability to work independently and maintain regular, cyclical schedule in order to meet required deadlines. Must be organized and detail oriented. At least two years' experience working in social services field preferred. Experience working with elderly and disabled preferred. Must have acceptable results from all required background screenings.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Normal vision and hearing or corrected vision/hearing to within normal limits
Be able to spend much time seated, either in front of computer or in meetings.
Movement around the building will be necessary to monitor the work of others, to attend meetings, or to assess the condition of facility and equipment.
Able to lift 20lbs.
Physical requirements include bending, pushing, pulling, etc.
High level of physical and emotional health to cope with periods of high stress and working hours.
Cognitive abilities must be unimpaired
