We provide a fulsome orientation to set you up for success in your new role! If you were working for us as a Nursing Clerical Coordinator, here are some of the things you would have done last week:
• Maintain Residents Health records. This includes but is not limited to:• setting up new charts
• thinning charts as required
• filing of chart documents and forms
• management of overflow files
• archiving inactive charts - file management retention
• Maintenance of forms - master binder, filing cabinets, nursing stations
• Maintenance of the policy binders
• Long and maintain HIN invoices as required
• Completion of lab requisition, other forms and maintenance of the lab schedule
• Booking appointments and arranging transportation - medical, follow-up, diagnostic
• Contact families for appointments, care conferences and follow up
• Ordering supplies
• Clerical support for the Manager of Resident Care
• Organize clinical office workflow. Coordinate meetings and schedule appointments as required. Produce the agendas and minutes for such meetings
• Maintain nursing department internal records and prepare reports as required, examples include but not limited to: educational, attendance and performance reviews.
• Working knowledge of scheduling software to assist with call ins and maintenance of the working schedule within the software
• Provide back up to Office and Staffing Coordinator as required
• Assist in an environment that protects Resident and Team Member confidentiality
• Provide excellence in customer service to all residents, families and visitors by creating a welcoming and open atmosphere in the general office area
• Provide reception for the Home
• Respond to phone and email inquires
• Assist the tour process in a manner that meets the unique needs of the Home.
• Understand and promote a "hospitality" environment within home
• Advocate for S&R Management with alignment to the organizational Mission, Vision and Values.
• Follows all guidelines for Team Members and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Identifying, reporting and documenting building and/or equipment breakdowns as appropriate
• Know and understand all Health and Safety policies, practices and safe operating procedures and consistently apply this knowledge in the course of your employment

To be hired into this role, you must have:
• Relevant post secondary education or experience in office and/or payroll
• Medical terminology
• Ability to work well with other members of the team
• Good communication and professional interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external customers
• Long term care experience
• Computer skills - MS Outlook, Excel and Word, computerized scheduling program, charting program and accounting program
• Basic accounting skills
• Scheduling knowledge
