Nurse Manager – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) RN
Houston, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule Options:
• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Evenings: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Nights: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend rotation and on-call participation required
Compensation:
• $45.79 – $60.09 per hour (heavily based on years of experience)
• Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
• Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case
Overview
A nationally recognized women’s and children’s hospital in Houston is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – NICU to support operations within a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role partners closely with the NICU Director to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting staff development, performance improvement initiatives, and operational excellence.
This opportunity is ideal for a NICU Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager with recent leadership experience who thrives in a high-acuity, fast-paced neonatal environment.
Responsibilities
• Support the Director in daily operations of the NICU in alignment with organizational goals and standards
• Assist with staffing coordination, workflow management, and unit operations
• Ensure nursing care delivery follows evidence-based practice and the nursing process
• Provide clinical leadership and hands-on support to NICU nursing staff
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives
• Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within women’s and neonatal services
• Promote a collaborative, supportive, and safety-focused culture
Required:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Active RN license (Texas or multistate compact; Texas license required within 60 days if compact)
• Minimum 2 years of recent (within the last year) NICU leadership experience (Manager or Charge Nurse)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
Preferred:
• Prior experience in Level III or Level IV NICU environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through growth and change
