We are seeking a motivated Nurse Manager to lead the Cardiac Stepdown Unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care and professional development for nursing staff.
Pay / Compensation:
• Salary Range: $84,849 – $127,274/year (based on experience)
• Sign-On Bonus: Offered (case by case)
• Relocation Assistance: Available (case by case)
As the Nurse Manager of the Cardiac Stepdown Unit, you will be responsible for the operational and clinical leadership of a 37-bed unit with 60 full-time employees. This role includes oversight of staffing, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will be the driver of patient satisfaction, staff engagement, and performance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 24/7 accountability for unit performance and patient care outcomes
• Ensure safe, evidence-based nursing care aligned with organizational goals
• Lead and support unit-based staff development and clinical excellence
• Maintain compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards
• Monitor budget adherence and control operating expenses
• Promote interdisciplinary teamwork for optimal patient results
• Lead process improvement initiatives aligned with regulatory guidelines
• Conduct performance reviews and create a culture of patient-centered care and safety
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of recent leadership experience in acute care (preferably cardiac or stepdown)
• Experience in Magnet or Pathways-designated facilities highly preferred
• Education:
• BSN required
• MSN or Master’s in related field preferred
• Licensure/Certifications:
• Active Texas RN license or compact state license
• BLS and ACLS required
• National Specialty Certification (or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire)
• 37-bed cardiac stepdown unit
• Overseeing approximately 60 FTEs
• Reports to Director of Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Interview process includes virtual (WebEx) and onsite sessions with leadership
