Position Summary:
Cornerstone Support Services is seeking a dedicated and skilled RN or LPN to serve as our Nurse Educator & Medication Compliance Coordinator. This role is primarily responsible for teaching the 32-hour Medication Aide course and providing ongoing clinical education and support to direct care staff by traveling to our multiple locations (Mechanicsville, Harrisonburg, and Roanoke) for New Hire 32-Hour training and 4-Hour Medication Refresher courses.
Key Responsibilities:
· Teach the 32-hour Medication Aide course in accordance with Virginia DBHDS regulations for non-licensed personnel to administer medications in various settings such as group homes and adult day care centers.
· Train on how to conduct routine and targeted medication administration audits.
· Provide one-on-one coaching and retraining for staff with medication or care-related performance issues.
· Collaborate with administrative and Residential teams to identify training needs and improve staff competency.
· Ensure compliance with DBHDS and DMAS standards related to staff training and medication management.
Qualifications:
· Current RN (preferred) or LPN license in good standing in Virginia.
· Experience in teaching, training, or staff development preferred.
· Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and documentation standards.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
· Familiarity with Code of Virginia § 54.1-3408 pertaining to medication administration training requirements.
· Ability to travel to various service locations as needed (approximately 2-3 weeks a month).
