We are currently seeking an NPD Electrical Engineer II to support New Product Development with a focus on AutoCAD Electrical automation, rules-based configuration, and manufacturing-ready electrical design.
This is a hands-on engineering role within our NPD team, reporting directly to the NPD Manager

What You’ll Do
Build Rules-Driven Electrical Design Automation
Develop and maintain AutoCAD Electrical templates, symbol libraries, parametric blocks, and drawing standards
Encode selection rules to automatically generate:
One-line diagrams
Schematics
Panel layouts
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Integrate configurator, CAD, and ERP data for scalable design output
Perform Electrical Design & Calculations
Size and select three-phase power components (up to 600V)
Conduct short circuit and protection calculations
Perform conductor sizing and low-voltage control wiring design (relays, sensors, VFDs)
Own Documentation & Change Control
Produce and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and interconnect drawings
Drive Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) within PLM
Partner with Supply Chain on alternates and cost optimization
Verification, Compliance & Release
Author electrical DVP&R test plans
Execute bench and lab validation
Support pilot builds and manufacturing readiness
Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA activities
Prepare documentation for UL/CSA/IEC and NEC/NFPA compliance coordination
Manufacturing & Cross-Functional Support
Ensure safety, manufacturability, reliability, and cost targets are achieved
Triage production build issues and implement corrective actions
Provide engineering data to support marketing literature and final configuration outputs
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
3–5 years of progressive electrical design experience
Strong expertise in:
Three-phase power systems (up to ~600V)
Low-voltage control wiring
Panel layout and wiring conventions
AutoCAD Electrical (symbol libraries, cross-referencing, PLC I/O footprints, reports)
Rules-based configuration or CPQ systems
Working knowledge of UL/CSA/IEC standards
Familiarity with EMC/EMI fundamentals and NEC/NFPA 70 & 70E
Strong communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects independently
