About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated Prompt Engineer to join our AI/NLP Team, working directly under the AI Team Lead. The Prompt Engineer will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and evaluating prompts for AI models across multiple use cases and industries. This role requires creativity, structured thinking, and a strong understanding of language patterns to ensure AI assistants deliver accurate, contextual, and user-friendly outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Design, test, and refine prompts to improve model performance in understanding user intents, generating structured outputs, and handling complex conversation flows.

Collaborate with the NLP team to build intent libraries, training data, and response frameworks for domain-specific use cases (Education, Insurance, Debt, Mortgage, etc.).

Translate business and client requirements into optimized prompt strategies that align with desired outcomes.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to misclassification, hallucination, and context handling.

Maintain documentation of prompt strategies, best practices, and knowledge bases for the wider team.

Work closely with the AI Team Lead and analysts to evaluate performance metrics (precision, recall, accuracy) and ensure continuous improvement.

Support the integration of prompt designs into the Meera AI platform and assist in scaling prompt solutions across campaigns.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Engineering or Master’s degree preferred).

Strong command of English with excellent writing and communication skills.

IELTS (mandatory) or an equivalent certification.

Analytical mindset with the ability to think logically, break down problems, and craft structured solutions.

Familiarity with Generative AI, NLP concepts, and Conversational AI systems.

Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to experiment with multiple approaches.

Basic understanding of JSON structures, conversation design, or intent classification is preferred (training will be provided).

Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have (Preferred Skills)

Experience working with AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or similar LLMs.

Understanding of conversational flows, dialog design, or chatbot platforms.

Exposure to industries like Education, Insurance, or Customer Experience.

Interest in AI research, prompt optimization, or human-computer interaction.

Tech Stack

LLMs: GPT-based models (OpenAI), Claude, Gemini, and other commercial or open-source LLMs.

Frameworks & Tools: LangChain, Python (basic scripting for evaluation), JSON, YAML, Postman.

Version Control & Collaboration: GitHub, Notion, Confluence, Slack, JIRA.

Analytics & Evaluation: Precision/Recall analysis, qualitative evaluation frameworks.
