About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager of Non-Profit Housing, you will oversee a portfolio of non-profit and cooperative housing, residential properties across the Simcoe region. You’ll play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant, and well-managed housing while fostering strong relationships with tenants, community partners, and internal teams.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of a portfolio of non-profit residential properties. This includes maintaining quality housing standards, ensuring financial and legislative compliance, and fostering positive tenant and community relationships.
You’ll collaborate with internal teams, community partners, and service agencies to support tenant well-being while overseeing budgets, site operations, and maintenance coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the daily operations of non-profit residential properties.
Ensure compliance with RTA, Housing Services Act, and organizational standards.
Conduct site visits, oversee maintenance and safety, and resolve tenant concerns.
Prepare and manage property budgets, financial reports, and subsidy documentation.
Coordinate move-ins/outs, inspections, and lease renewals.
Support tenant relations, crisis response, and community development.
Supervise site staff and external contractors.
Prepare reports for boards or funders and assist with audits and inspections.
Qualifications:
Education: Diploma in Property Management, Business Administration, Social Services, or equivalent experience. Certification in RPA, CPM, or CIHM is considered an asset.
Experience: 3–5 years in non-profit housing property management or related field.
Knowledge: Residential Tenancies Act, Housing Services Act, RGI calculations, and subsidy programs.
Skills: Communication, conflict resolution, budgeting, financial reporting, MS Office, and property management software (Yardi preferred).
Other: Valid Ontario Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.
Assets:
Experience with vulnerable or marginalized populations.
Knowledge of cooperative housing models or trauma-informed care.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with regular property site visits.
Occasional evening meetings and exposure to emotionally sensitive situations.
Some lifting, walking, and stair-climbing are required.
