βοΈ Contract: Permanent
π° Salary: Β£12.85 per hour (annual review)
β Weekend Rate: Β£13.35 per hour
π Hours: Full time β 36 hours per week

Stroud House provides specialist elderly residential care, including support for residents living with complex dementia. Our focus is on creating a calm, reassuring environment where dignity, comfort and emotional wellbeing are prioritised at all times.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Care Assistant to join our team at SDR Care.
Working nights in a dementia-focused home requires patience, attentiveness, and a calm presence. Many of our residents experience complex dementia, which can include confusion, memory loss, anxiety, disturbed sleep patterns, and behaviours that require sensitive and skilled support.
As a Night Care Assistant, you will:
Provide high-quality, person-centred care throughout the night
Support residents with personal care, including continence care and repositioning
Ensure residents are safe, comfortable and reassured during periods of wakefulness
Monitor wellbeing and respond promptly to call bells or emergencies
Support residents who may be anxious, disoriented or experiencing night-time distress
Complete regular checks and accurate record-keeping
Administer medication safely (where trained)
Maintain a calm, quiet environment that promotes restful sleep
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity of care
Uphold safeguarding and infection control standards at all times
This role requires emotional resilience, professionalism, and the ability to remain composed and compassionate during challenging situations.

Who Weβre Looking For
β Experienced Night Care Assistant β Previous experience in a residential or dementia care setting preferred
β Medication Trained β Confident in administering and managing medication safely
β Dementia-Aware & Person-Centred β Understanding of complex dementia and the ability to respond calmly to behavioural and emotional needs
β Compassionate & Reassuring β Able to provide comfort and reduce anxiety during night-time hours
β Committed to Quality Care β Upholding high standards with a resident-first mindset
β Reliable & Responsible β Able to work independently at night while remaining part of a supportive team
β Observant & Proactive β Recognising subtle changes in health or behaviour and escalating appropriately
