JOB SCOPE
The Night Auditor should be able to communicate well with others. The ideal candidate should be able to work without supervision, take initiative, be mature enough to deal with any circumstance that one might encounter in the night and also be able to lead others.
He or she would be expected to:
Have some knowledge of the Property Management System.
Manage the property, as he or she is the Manager on Duty at night and is accountable for all that happens between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am.
Have some knowledge of Accounting.
Pay attention to detail as this is crucial in the reconciling of all the daily transactions and ensuring accuracy.
Reconcile Front Desk /Reservations/ AR transactions.
Reconcile all Restaurant transactions.
Reconcile Credit Card reports.
Perform Front Desk procedures according to the AAA 5 Diamond standards and LQA Benchmarking standards – answering the telephone, check ins and checkouts. The posting of information to the guest folios and any other function that becomes necessary to enable guests to have a great holiday.
Make Reservations.
Complete the End of Day process.
Prepare and submit a report at the end of the shift.
Prepare a property Audit report (re. Hotel operations).
The Training Process:
Training in Maestro.
Front Desk procedures.
Reservation procedures.
General hospitality information.
General standard operating procedures for the three properties.
AAA 5 Diamond standards and the LQA Benchmark standards.
To Facilitate the Training Process:
Training manual outlining all the various aspects of the job.
Created nightly check lists for each property – this is to ensure that nothing is forgotten.
Created templates for the reports as a guide of what is expected.
Provided information about the diversity of the hotels.
Expected Outcome:
The Auditor would be adept at the auditing.
Capable of managing the Front Desk.
Have an informed knowledge of the properties when making bookings or engaging in conversation with a guest.
To be trusted to manage the property at night as he or she is the General Manager’s Representative.
Training and Development
To attend training programs and to ensure that the hotel’s and department’s standard operating procedures are maintained and understood.
To actively participate in an evaluation of your performance by means of an appraisal with your leadership team. In order to correct weaknesses, encourage strengths and work to achieve personal and professional goals.
To thoroughly review and understand the information contained within the Ocean Hotels Employee handbook since as an employee of Ocean Hotels Barbados, you are governed by the rules and stipulations contained within.
To attend and participate in any training programs as directed by the HR team and your manager or supervisor.
