As a participant in this program, you will provide specialised technical expertise and support to hospital clinical teams. Your role will include regular procedural support of transcatheter aortic valve implants (TAVI) for the treatment of aortic stenosis in the catheterization laboratory (cath lab). Training and educating our customers is essential to build their competence and confidence in our products, while also developing long-lasting clinical relationships.
NextGen Field Academy
Medtronic's NextGen Academy offers individuals from diverse educational backgrounds the opportunity to pursue a career in healthcare technology. This 12-month program provides a structured training and education pathway to support your professional development in becoming a qualified Technical Consultant in the Structural Heart (SH) business within Medtronic. The program ensures you become confident and competent in all aspects of clinical and business settings, transforming you into a highly skilled and specialised professional.
Internship details:
• Start date: May 2026
• Duration: 12 months (extendable + 6 months)
• Working hours: Full time (flexible 7:30-10:00 to 16:00-18:30)
• Working model: around 70% in the field and 30% at home
• Location: Barcelona
• Internship agreement
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• Shadow Technical Consultants (TCs) in hospital Cath Labs and clinics to observe device implant procedures and follow-up visits.
• Participate in structured online and in-person training sessions over a 12-month period.
• Engage in regular check-ins with your assigned mentor and TC team for guidance and support.
• Take on regular projects to complement and reinforce your learning.
• Participate in ongoing assessments with dedicated trainers and mentors to track your progress.
• Join activities across the European cohort.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Recently graduated or in the final year of Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Cardiac Physiology, Nursing or a related healthcare field
• Fluency in Spanish and English (at least B2 upper-intermediate level), with strong communication skills
• Able to participate full time for a 12-month program as an Intern
• Legally authorised to work in the country where the position is based on a full-time basis and does not require sponsorship in the future for an employment visa
• Driver’s licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays, which may include some unsociable hours. Expected minimum travel of 60%
• Motivated, ambitious, and passionate about people, innovation, and medical technology, with a strong desire to help patients by providing healthcare solutions
• Demonstrated integrity, ethics, respect, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team; eager to self-develop and learn technical information at a high level
