A Day in the Life

Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) International is embedding AI as a core operating layer across commercial, marketing, and operational workflows. As an Intern, you will support the rollout, integration, and maintenance of CST’s first cross‑regional Virtual Assistant and related AI initiatives.

This role is designed for a digital native who is comfortable working with GPTs, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, prompting, and modern AI workflows.

Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience supporting CST International’s AI transformation and develop practical understanding of how AI solutions are deployed and governed across multiple regions and real commercial environments.

 NextGen Academy

The NextGen Academy is a 12-month immersive program designed to launch your career in medical technology. It offers hands-on experience and close collaboration with cross functional teams to support therapies, shape product positioning, and contribute to the launch of innovative solutions.

The program is designed to develop you into a confident and capable future professional, aligned with Medtronic’s mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.

Internship details: 

•    Start date: July

•    Duration: 12 months (extendable + 6 months)

•    Working hours: Full time 40 hours per week

•    Working model: hybrid (2 days per week in the office)

•    Location: Madrid

•    Internship agreement

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

• Support the development and deployment of CST’s Virtual Assistant SensAI and help translate CST International’s AI roadmap into practical deliverables.
• Participate in structured problem-solving and AI use case ideation while supporting the rollout of new AI tools and workflows across countries.
• Coordinate with local commercial and marketing teams, track deployment progress, and provide updates

• Assist in the creation and refinement of custom GPTs and Copilot AI agents, including preparing training data and supporting prompt engineering workflows.
• Monitor AI agent performance and conduct audits and quality checks to ensure alignment with Responsible AI and governance standards.       

• Support documentation, version control, and administrative coordination - including preparing meeting briefs, action lists, AI workshop logistics, and assisting with data collection and dashboards.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Recently graduated or in the last year of master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Digital Innovation, Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluency in English and  Spanish
• Experience working with generative AI tools (e.g. GPT-based models, agents, orchestration tools) and applying them for productivity, automation, or content generation
• Understanding of prompt engineering, model behavior, limitations, and responsible AI or governance principles
• Analytical and structured problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and reliably
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across countries and time zones

Pay range: 1000 EUR gross per month + Food Aid (Ticket restaurant)
