Job Title: New Business / Commercial Director – NewGen US
Location: New York, NY or Los Angeles, CA
Hybrid Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office. Los Angeles-based candidates will initially be fully remote.
Salary: $150,000 base + highly attractive performance-based commission structure

The Role
We are seeking a New Business / Commercial Director with a proven track record of securing and scaling multi-million dollar contracts within the influencer marketing and social landscape.
This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for driving agency growth, building high-value client relationships, and positioning NewGen as the go-to partner for brands seeking social-first creativity and creator expertise.
You will lead new business development and commercial strategy, identifying opportunities across social, influencer, and creator campaigns. You will own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and pitching through negotiation and contract closure — while partnering closely with agency leadership to shape growth trajectory and market positioning.
This role requires deep fluency in the social and influencer ecosystem, strong senior-level relationships, and the strategic ability to translate cultural trends and platform dynamics into compelling commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Drive New Business Growth
Lead and own new business pipeline development, consistently identifying and securing multi-million dollar opportunities
Build and execute strategically driven new business and marketing plans
Develop and maintain relationships with senior marketing decision-makers across brands, holding companies, and in-house teams
Prospect, qualify, and convert high-value leads across social, influencer, and creator marketing
Manage the full sales cycle from outreach through negotiation and contract closure
Collaborate on Pitches & Commercial Strategy
Act as commercial lead on new business pitches
Partner with strategy, creative, influencer, and account teams to develop winning proposals
Present confidently to C-suite and senior marketing stakeholders
Develop pricing strategies, scopes of work, and contract terms
Negotiate complex multi-year, multi-market agreements
Market Intelligence & Positioning
Maintain deep knowledge of the social and influencer landscape
Identify white space opportunities and emerging verticals
Build thought leadership through industry events and partnerships
Stay ahead of platform shifts and creator economy trends
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner with leadership to shape growth strategy and revenue targets
Ensure pitch quality and strategic coherence
Support smooth onboarding and handoff of new clients
Contribute to agency positioning and go-to-market initiatives
Relationship Management & Business Development
Build and nurture long-term relationships with brand decision-makers and procurement teams
Maintain active presence within key industry networks
Identify partnership opportunities with complementary agencies and platforms
Act as a senior ambassador for NewGen externally
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in new business, business development, or commercial leadership within social, influencer, and/or creator marketing agencies
Proven track record securing multi-million dollar contracts
Deep understanding of the influencer, creator, and social media landscape
Strong existing relationships with senior marketing stakeholders
Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder pitches and negotiations
Strong commercial acumen (pricing, deal structuring, contract terms)
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Strategic thinker with strong market awareness
Self-starter with a hunter mentality
Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial agency environment
True social and creator fluency
Bonus Qualifications
Knowledge of gaming or emerging creator economy verticals
Experience building new agency capabilities or service offerings
Strong network within the events and marketing community
